Reconstruction from non-uniform samples: A direct, variational approach in shift-invariant spaces

چکیده

We propose a new approach for signal reconstruction from non-uniform samples, without any constraint on their locations. We look for a function that minimizes a classical regularized least-squares criterion, but with the additional constraint that the solution lies in a chosen linear shiftinvariant space—typically, a spline space. In comparison with a pure variational treatment involving radial basis functions, our approach is resolution dependent; an important feature for many applications. Moreover, the solution can be computed exactly by a fast non-iterative algorithm, that exploits at best the particular structure of the problem.

Non-uniform Sampling in Shift-invariant Spaces

This article discusses modern techniques for non-uniform sampling and reconstruction of functions in shift-invariant spaces. The reconstruction of a function or signal or image f from its non-uniform samples f(xj) is a common task in many applications in data or signal or image processing. The non-uniformity of the sampling set is often a fact of life and prevents the use of the standard method...

We propose a new approach for signal reconstruction from non-uniform samples, without constraints on their locations. We look for a function that belongs to a linear shift-invariant space, andminimizes a variational criterion that is a weighted sum of a least-squares data term and a quadratic term penalizing the lack of smoothness. This leads to a resolutiondependent solution, that can be compu...

Nonuniform Average Sampling and Reconstruction of Signals with Finite Rate of Innovation

From an average (ideal) sampling/reconstruction process, the question arises whether and how the original signal can be recovered from its average (ideal) samples. We consider the above question under the assumption that the original signal comes from a prototypical space modelling signals with finite rate of innovation, which includes finitely-generated shift-invariant spaces, twisted shift-in...

Analysis of Super Resolution Reconstruction based on Multi - frame Interpolation using Different Ortho - normal Wavelets

In many image or video processing applications, it is often required to increase image resolution. This paper addresses a Super Resolution scheme that reconstructs high resolution images from non-uniformly distributed samples obtained from multiple available sub-pixel shifted low resolution images. In this work, the problem of reconstructing a signal from its non-uniform samples in shift-invari...

Beurling-landau-type Theorems for Non-uniform Sampling in Shift Invariant Spline Spaces

Under the appropriate definition of sampling density Dφ, a function f that belongs to a shift invariant space can be reconstructed in a stable way from its non-uniform samples only if Dφ ≥ 1. This result is similar to Landau’s result for the PaleyWiener space B1/2. If the shift invariant space consists of polynomial splines, then we show that Dφ < 1 is sufficient for the stable reconstruction o...
